AL BRAITHWAITE
Self-styled ‘maximalist’ artist Al Braithwaite was born in West Germany in 1979, and lives in England.
After studying Human and Physical Geography at Oxford University, he travelled extensively in the Middle East in 2002 with Off Screen, an artists’ collective. He then co-authored the book of this project, “Off Screen: Four Young Artists in the Middle East” (Booth-Clibborn Editions, 2004).
His most recent solo show, “Hizbollah’s Caviar”, was shown at the Rose Issa project space in London (2009). Prior to this, he exhibited widely in the Middle East and America and his work is in several international public collections, including the British Council, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art and the Royal Jordanian Collection.
