Mitra Tabrizian: This is That Place

Photographer and filmmaker Mitra Tabrizian was born in Tehran and lives and works in London. She uses documentary film techniques to create large-scale photographs of elaborate, staged tableaux, ‘acted’ by local people she invites to participate in her scenes. The resulting images are allegories of contemporary society and the human condition – in Iran and the West.
