War Time, Peace Time is Lebanese artist Jean-Marc Nahas’ first solo show in London. The exhibition features two recent series of drawings based on his coming of age during the Lebanese civil war.
As a teenager Jean-Marc Nahas witnessed scenes of torture and death that haunt him to this day. In small black and white drawings he flashbacks to these events, while in his more colorful drawings he depicts scenes of everyday life during and after the war.
Jean-Marc Nahas was born in Beirut in 1963. He finished his studies in Canada and then at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He currently lives and works in Lebanon.
