Raeda Saadeh
You could call Palestinian artist Raeda Saadeh the Cindy Sherman of the Arab world. With great warmth and humour, she poses herself in sets and costumes that she makes herself to stage her photographic tableaux. The resulting images comment on her experiences as a Palestinian woman and her relationship to her homeland, in a thought-provoking and always entertaining way.
Beyond Art Production, 2012. Published to coincide with an exhibition at the Rose Issa project space in London.
